Miles to go before aged care update work sleeps

1 minute read

Apologies to Robert Frost, but there is nothing poetic about how much work is still to be done after the 1 November implementation of the Aged Care Act.

An updated digital transformation roadmap for the aged care sector shows 10 pieces of work originally slated for release this month have now been pushed back to November and December.

The roadmap, published this morning by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, shows just how much work will be done after the 1 November implementation of the new Aged Care Act. It was presented at the 7 August meeting of the Digital Transformation Sector Partners group.

Five of the updates relate to the government provider management system:

  • Enhancements to worker screening to align with new Aged Care Act;
  • Enhancements to Risk Based Targeting and Information Sharing Program;
  • Enhancements to Quarterly Financial Reporting;
  • Updates to Quality Indicators in GPMS;
  • Enhancements to GPMS Operational Reporting.

Four are related to the My Aged Care portal:

  • HCP client digital transition;
  • Capturing First Nations Assessment Organisations;
  • AT and HM prioritisation system;
  • Updates to notifications from Aged Care Gateway after an AN-ACC reconsideration.

The 10th is part of the business to government reporting system and relates to the quality indicators API to support the Aged Care Act.
