There are 48 days left in 2023, and 21 more Medicare urgent care clinics promised by midnight on 31 December.

Queensland’s sixth Medicare urgent care clinic has officially opened at Oxenford on the northern end of the Gold Coast.

The clinic joins Ipswich, Browns Plains, Murrumba Downs, South Brisbane and Toowoomba in being open extended hours, seven days a week, offering walk-in bulk-billed care.

Five more clinics are planned for Queensland – Bundaberg, Cairns, North Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville, with the DoHAC committing to have them open to patients by the end of the year.

A total of 37 MUCCs are now open across the country with 21 more promised by the end of 2023.
