From August 18–20, Melbourne will host HIC2025, Australia’s premier digital health conference, where the theme Engage, Disrupt, Transform sets the tone for a bold reimagining of healthcare’s digital future.
Presented by the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH), the event promises to be a dynamic convergence of clinical leaders, technologists, policymakers, and academics.
This year’s theme is more than a slogan—it’s a challenge. HIC2025 invites delegates to actively engage with the complexities of modern healthcare, disrupt outdated systems, and transform care delivery through digital innovation.
A major drawcard for this year’s program is the distinguished and influential keynote lineup, including Professor Brett Sutton AO, former Chief Health Officer of Victoria, and Dr Norman Swan, renowned broadcaster and health commentator. Their insights will anchor the conference’s exploration of public health, digital disruption, and the future of evidence-based care.
Anja Nikolic, CEO of AIDH, will open the conference with a clear message:
“We are at a pivotal moment. The pace of change in digital health is accelerating, and our challenge is to ensure that transformation is purposeful, inclusive, and sustainable. There is much to be optimistic about.”
Anja Nikolic adds:
“Engagement is about listening—to clinicians, to patients, to communities. Disruption is about questioning the status quo. And transformation is about building something better, together, to achieve our vision of ‘healthier lives, digitally enabled’.”
One of the standout features of HIC2025 is its sold-out exhibition, a testament to the sector’s momentum and appetite for innovation. Delegates will have access to a vibrant showcase of cutting-edge solutions and unparalleled opportunities to connect with vendors, explore new technologies, and spark collaborations that drive real-world impact.
Across three days, the conference will feature eight plenary sessions, learning labs and workshops covering real-world use cases, governance, and the ethics behind intelligent tech in AI, digital equity, data governance, interoperability, workforce transformation and connected care. These topics will challenge attendees to think critically about the future of digital health technology.
As Australia’s health sector faces rising demand, workforce challenges, and the need for integrated care, the conversations sparked here will shape the future of digital health.
“Transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we come together—with courage, with curiosity, and with a shared commitment to better health for all. If you want to be part of the conversation that’s shaping the future of digital health in Australia, register today and join us in Melbourne.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to our sponsors and exhibitors. Their support not only powers this event—it powers the innovation and collaboration that drive our sector forward. HIC2025 wouldn’t be possible without their commitment to a gold standard health system.”
