CSIRO evaluation of Sparked FHIR Accelerator program in second phase

2 minute read

A stakeholders’ survey will assess whether the program is being delivered optimally.

The CSIRO has launched the second part of its evaluation of the Sparked FHIR Accelerator program, the consortium designed to foster collaboration between key stakeholders engaged in improving the interoperability of digital health systems in Australia.

Sparked has gained renown globally since its inception in July 2023 as a partnership between the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, the Australian Digital Health Agency, and HL7 Australia, coordinated by the CSIRO.

The Australian e-Health Research Centre at CSIRO is conducting an evaluation of the implementation of the Sparked FHIR Accelerator program. The results will be used by the team delivering the program to make improvements to how it is delivered.

This evaluation focuses on the community of practice (CoP) and knowledge management (KM) systems of the Sparked Clinical Design Group (CDG) and Technical Design Groups (TDGs).

Part one was a survey conducted in October/November of last year, and the second survey is now open.

The survey explores participant experiences with, and perceived effectiveness of the Sparked FHIR accelerator program. Participants include stakeholders who are involved in the implementation of the program, including those running the activities within the program, those with reporting responsibilities in regard to the program and those attending the activities included in the program.

More information and the survey are available here.
