Foxo Health will help GCH enhance patient care and improve communication across the entirety of its health services.

Gold Coast Health will integrate Australian software provider Foxo Health’s communications platform across its hospitals and other health services as part of a newly formed strategic partnership

The Foxo platform will be connected with GCH’s electronic medical record and Microsoft Teams to facilitate “seamless and secure” interaction between patients, health professionals and external providers under a single “unified ecosystem”, the announcement said

The partnership also involved the co-design of a digitally enabled rapid access service aimed at reducing ED presentations across Gold Coast hospitals, with patients at higher risk of hospitalisation encouraged to scan a take-home QR code to connect with hospital staff members via secure two-way messaging, phone calls or video conferencing for advice to self-manage their care.

According to Sandip Kumar, executive director of strategy, transformation and major capital at GCH, implementing Foxo Health’s platform would help drive improvements in patient outcomes and reduce ED pressure across the region.

“Through the integration of Foxo’s comprehensive communication platform, our health service stands at the forefront of modern healthcare delivery and accessibility,” he said.

“Our focus on improved patient access and reducing ED visits underscores our commitment to elevating healthcare outcomes.”
